The da Vinci robotically assisted surgical systems have significantly changed the face of surgery in recent decades. Currently, more than 9,100 systems are already installed, on which a total of over 14 million operations have been performed - of which there were approximately 2.2 million in 2023 alone. Worldwide, a da Vinci robotic system is used every 16.8 seconds. The range of specializations that are suitable for robot-assisted surgery is constantly expanding – in addition to urology, gynecology, general abdominal surgery and thoracic surgery, it is also used in ENT and bariatrics.
